The Hope of Glory
Is this a season of sorrow and/or suffering? Have you lost someone you love? Have you lost your job? Is your health failing or the health of your spouse, parent, or child? The afflictions we face are numerous as we go through this life. Yet, we, who are saved, born-again, children of God, are not without hope because we have Christ in us, the hope of glory.
Look at this passage of scripture in the Holy King James Bible in Colossians 1:27 “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” The Bible says in Psalms 24:8-10 KJV, “The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.”
There are battles we will face and the way to victory is to lift up our heads to the King of Glory and get our eyes off this passing world and all that is in it. When we look fully in His wonderful face, we find that He makes our burdens and afflictions appear light; and we are able to say with the Apostle Paul, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18 KJV.
Oh, Christian, the Hope of Glory is beckoning you to come unto Him. He is able to succour you for it is written in the King James Bible, “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows::” Isaiah 53:4a. ” Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:15 KJV. He is waiting. Will you come?
