Walk This Way
Walking is a good thing when it is possible to do so. Walking brings many health benefits to our bodies and is great for our emotional well-being. For some, walking physically may not be possible; but to every Christian, walking spiritually is absolutely possible through Jesus Christ our Lord. To walk in the Spirit gives life. (See II Corinthians 3:6 KJV and John 6:63 KJV)
There are many different ways to walk in the physical sense. Depending on the season in our life, we may walk slowly, fast, often, or once in a while. We may walk by ourselves, with someone, or with a multitude of people. Clearly, there are various ways to walk.
Then, there is the spiritual aspect of walking. The Bible says in Galatians 5:16-26 KJV, “This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” The great news about the spiritual walk is that we never walk alone, once we’re saved, born-again, children of God, Howbeit, we may desire another human being to walk alongside us or we may desire to walk along with a group.
Our walk will differ at different times in our lives depending on the season we’re in. Today, do you feel as if you’re walking alone and wish you had someone to walk alongside you? Reach out to your pastor or another church member. If you are currently not in a church, there is still no need to continue walking without another Christian to come alongside you for encouragement. Perhaps you’re wanting to walk collectively with a group. Get involved in your local church and walk alongside some like-minded Christians. Join in with others who are serving the Lord wholeheartedly. We were created for fellowship with God and other believers. The Bible says in Galatians 5:2 KJV, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Let us all walk this way.
