Issues of the Heart
Some women come to christianlifecoachtools.com for coaching because they are having heart issues. I’m not talking about the organ in your chest that pumps blood to your body, but rather the heart referred to so often in the King James Bible. Proverbs 4:23 KJV says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.” The word “keep” in the context of this verse means to watch or guard. We are to watch/guard our hearts diligently. Are you protecting and shielding your heart, as you are told to in scripture? Why is this so important, anyway?
Jesus Christ said in Luke 6:45 KJV, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” Have you ever said something and wondered, “Where did that come from?” It came straight from your heart!
The heart is the place where spiritual activity takes place. When you study the Word of God and meditate on it, the Word takes root in your heart. When you are entrenched in the world and the rudiments thereof, it takes root in your heart. Out of the abundance of the heart means that our heart will be filled with whatever we allow in.
What’s in your heart today? Are you filled with this world and with the opinions of men or are you filled with God’s Word and his thoughts and truth?
A great prayer to pray sincerely would be, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24 KJV. According to 1John 1:9 KJV, “God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” when we confess our sins to him. Let Him heal you from the issues of the heart.
