Strength in Weakness
Not one of us likes to be weak, right? We spend lots of time strengthening ourselves, whether in body or intellect. To avoid being weak, we will go through extreme measures, at times. Yet, God offers us grace and shows his power when we are weak. It is through our weakness that He gets to show Himself strong and receive the glory due to His name.
Are you currently in a situation that feels completely out of your control? This is a good place to be, my friend, because it puts you in the place of needing God. We spend most of our lives attempting to be independent of God, which is not a good thing. If you are facing something much bigger than you are able to handle, rejoice! It means that God is giving you an opportunity to get to know him in a more intimate way. Will you let Him into your situation and allow Him to prove Himself strong in your weakness?
The Bible records the Apostle Paul’s victory through the infirmity of his flesh in II Corinthians 12:9 KJV, which says, “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest on me.”
Do you, like the Apostle Paul, desire the power of Christ in your life? It most often comes through our own weaknesses and full surrender of our situation to the One with whom we have to do. Are you willing to let go and let God show his power?
