Strong Weakness

Are you feeling strong? Do you have a strong, healthy, fit body? Are you mentally and emotionally strong? We all want to be strong, don’t we? Being weak is certainly not something we see as being a good thing, right? Yet, the only way to become strong is to become weak.
Body builders know this very well. In order for our muscles to become strong, we must break them down, and cause fatigue and weakness. It’s painful! “No pain, no gain”, says the old adage. Why do we expect it to be any different in regard to becoming spiritually strong?
No doubt, one of the greatest Christians who ever walked this earth was the Apostle Paul. God used him to write much of the New Testament and he accomplished God’s will for his life. It is fair to say, the Apostle Paul was a very strong Christian, yet, he suffered physical ailments, persecutions, and extreme hostility. How did Paul keep on keeping on?He had a direct connection to the Power Source-the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ told the Apostle Paul, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9b KJV.
Is Christ’s grace sufficient for your every trial and for every trial I face?
Yes, it is!
Paul sought the Lord to remove the thorn in his flesh, most likely, because he didn’t like being weak, anymore than you or I do. How often have we exhausted our own strength and store of endurance; then, cried out to the Lord in our weakness and distress, and he provided the strength we needed? That is the power of Christ, the Holy Spirit dwelling in you. That is the supernatural. That is Christ living in you, the hope of glory. Our own strength will never be enough to get us through the storms and trials of life. God never intended for us to go it alone.
May we, like Paul say, “Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9c KJV. “For when I am weak, then am I strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10
