Warm Winter

It’s winter, here in the northeast and the ground is frozen. There is ice and snow on the ground and I get very cold in the winter. However, I have learned how important it is for me to take walks for the health of my body, soul, and spirit. So, I bundled up and went outside. Brrrr.
Snow covered the trees and the sky was blue and cloudless. The sun was shining bright in all of its glory. I started off my walk feeling cold but I got warmer and warmer, as I thanked God to be alive and to move my body in the fresh air. When I looked down at the snow, Isaiah 1:18a came to mind: “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; KJV. As I continued to look at the white, clean, snow covering the dirty ground underneath it, I thought of how Jesus Christ’s blood covers all my sins and how his sinless blood can make the vilest sinner clean. I rejoiced in this blessed thought and kept on walking.
The sun was in its full strength of the day, and as I soaked it up, it reminded me of the Son of Righteousness and his power to triumph over death, hell, and the grave, which led me to praise him for what a mighty, powerful, an awesome God he is!
When I looked up toward the blue sky to tell Him that, Proverbs 20:30 came to mind, “The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.” Once again, I was reminded that it was by Jesus Christ’s wounds and stripes I am healed. Isaiah 53:5 KJV, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” My heart could not help but to sing out, “Oh, how I love Jesus, Oh, how I love Jesus, Oh, how I love Jesus because he first loved me!”
Are you having a warm winter?
