Mourning Joy

Last week’s blog was about good grief and I’d like to continue on with the thought of mourning joy. Have you experienced the comfort that only God can give during times of grief and mourning? Is it possible to have joy, even in mourning?
Jesus Christ said in Matthew 5:4, “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” Have you experienced this to be true in mourning? Are you broken hearted today? Take comfort in knowing God is touched by your grief. “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Psalms 147:3 KJV.
Jesus Christ came to heal the broken hearted. “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.”
Jesus Christ is able and willing to carry you through, for he has promised never to leave you nor forsake you, if you are his. The Bible says, “And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8 KJV
May I encourage you, dear friend, to run TO God in your mourning, not FROM him?
Ride out your storm and be faithful in the night because joy will come in the morning.
