Good Grief
What season of life are you in right now? Are you in a season of joy? Maybe you are in a season of grief. Whatever the season you’re in, be assured, it is all part of God’s plan.
Even grief? Yes, even grief.
The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Verse 4 goes on to say, “A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance.”
We all like seasons of laughter and dancing, don’t we? During these times, we laugh and rejoice. Life is an ebb and flow of both joy and sorrow, which means all of us will pass through the valley of tears and encounter sorrow, grief, and pain, along our journey. Embrace this time of sorrow and shedding of tears and empty your hearts to God. Be gentle and kind and allow the healing process God has put in place, knowing all the while, that this too shall pass.
The Bible encourages us in 1 Peter 5:10 KJV, “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” God uses grief for good: to make us perfect (whole), to strengthen us (make us stronger), and to settle us by keeping us rooted and grounded in Him. Feel through your grief, pour out your tears to God, and allow the God of all comfort to comfort you.
