Failing Well

We are two weeks into the year 2022. How are you feeling? Are you feeling well? I sincerely hope you are feeling well physical, emotionally, and spiritually. Did you set any resolutions or make any goals for this year? How are you doing with sticking to those? Have you succeeded, thus far? Have you failed, yet?
Feeling and failing are both parts of life. Most of us strive to feel well, most of the time, and we get upset and/or discouraged (and even worried) when we aren’t feeling well. We may even wonder what we did wrong that may have caused us to feel unwell. Yet, sickness is part of our lives, and at one time or another, we will all face it to some degree. We accept this as part of being alive.
None of us that are here on earth are in our perfected bodies, so it is inevitable that we will fail, some of us, more than others. What do you do when you fail? Do you condemn yourself or beat yourself up over it or do you accept the fact that you are an imperfect human being who is going to make mistakes and, yes, even sin, at times? Do you despair and give up when you fail or do you go to the Lord for his grace forgiveness, and understanding?
When we fail, and we all will, we have a wonderful opportunity set before us. We can learn through our failures and ask God what lesson he desires to teach us through it. Will you accept God’s loving mercy and his grace, even in your failures and figure out what he wants you to learn?
Will you fail well?
