Setting Godly Goals
January 1 is viewed as a clean slate to start anew. Many have set their goals or resolutions already and are working toward those. Did you set Godly goals? What is the difference between setting goals and setting Godly goals? Simply put, setting Godly goals is inviting God to determine the goals (plans) he has for you.
The Bible says in Proverbs 16:3, “Commit thy works unto the LORD and thy thoughts shall be established.” Have you committed your works unto the LORD? If so, your thoughts shall be established! What a wonderful promise! The Bible goes on to say in Proverbs 16:9, “A man’s heart devises his way, but the LORD directeth his steps.” How wonderful to know that God will direct our steps! When we are in alignment with God’s goals for us we have this promise: “Faithful is he who called you, who also will do it.” I Thessalonians 5:19. He will do it in us and through us!
Here are three easy As to setting Godly goals:
A=ASK: Ask God what his will is for you this year. What does He want you to accomplish through and for him in 2022? James 4:2
A=AGREE: Agree with God’s goals and plans for you. Amos 3:3
A=ACCEPT: Accept God knows what is best for you. Jeremiah 16:11
The Bible says in Philippians 4:6-7, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” KJV
Setting Godly goals is a great way to honor Him this year. Remember, if you aim at nothing, you’ll hit it every time!
