To Fear or Not To Fear…That Is The Question

I recently heard someone quote a placard they read on a wall in a restaurant.  It had the word fear in acrostic form like this:

Forget                                              F ace

Everything                OR                Everything

And                                                  And

Run                                                  Rise

Above the placard, it stated that these are the two ways we can react to fear.  Which one do you choose when fear grips you?  Do you forget everything and run or do you face everything and rise?  You get to choose.
Fear is an emotion common to us all.  We all are afraid, at times.  You may have different fears than I do, and I may have different fears than you.  The question is what do we do when fear confronts us?
David was one acquainted with fear, and rightfully so, as Saul sought his life in I Kings. This was how David handled his fear,  Psalm 56:3-4, “ What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.  In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”

Do you put your trust in God when fear takes hold of you or do you try to figure things out on your own?  Do you choose to praise his word and choose to fear not what others can do to you or do you tuck tail and run?  I have learned (and am still learning) like David, it is better to put my trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. – Psalm 118:8.  A wise preacher and pastor once said to me, “You are much safer in an unsafe place in the world in the will of God than you are in the safest place on earth out of the will of God.”  Those words have proven to be true in my life, as God has proven to be  my refuge and strong tower.  Is He yours, too?  This is my modified acrostic:        F ace

Everything

A nd

Rejoice

Philippians 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord, and again I say rejoice.”
