THINKING HONEST THOUGHTS

The Bible says in Philippeans 4:8 that we are to think honest thoughts. Noah Webster’s 1828 dictionary defines the word honest as upright; just; fair in dealing with others; free from trickeshness and fraud; acting and having the disposition to act at all times according to justice and correct moral principles; frank; sincere; unreserved according to truth.
Are you unreserved according to truth or do you reserve the truth when it suits you? Are you sincere or do you bend the truth to gain an advantage? Are you frank or do you tend to omit facts or be evasive so you can be liked? Do you act at all times according to justice and correct moral principles or do you bend the truth here and there when it benefits you to gain an advantage or to gain acceptance?
The Bible says in Psalm 139:2 that God looks at the heart and he knows our every thought. He tells us His ways are not our ways in Isaiah 55:8-9. We must make it a point to think honest thoughts, so that we become honest. The Holy Bible says, “as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Proverbs 23:7.
Thinking honest thoughts will transform you into an honest person. If you’re a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, you have the Holy Spirit who will aid you.
