Weighed Down by Care
How many of you are weighed down by care? Perhaps, it’s a loved one who is battling a terminal illness. Maybe, it’s a wayward child who can’t seem to be reached. For some, it’s a failing marriage; for others, it may be an unreasonable boss or financial trouble. We all go through trials in life, and we all have the tendency to get weighed down by our cares. So, how do we get through our trials without falling under the load?
By casting our care upon Jesus Christ.
Our human nature is to try to solve our own problems, and in some cases, that’s not a bad thing to do. Certain trials in our life, however, were intended to draw us closer to Christ. Our human nature likes to try to handle our burdens on our own, but Jesus Christ said in Matthew 11:28-29 KJV, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
The Bible doesn’t say that life will be easy. The Lord never promised us an easy life. There are trials we all must face until we reach glory. There will be good days and there will be bad days- but we never have to go through them alone. Jesus Christ said,
“I will never leave thee, nor for sake thee.” Hebrews 13:5 KJV; “and, lo, I am with you always , even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:20 KJV.
Will you cast your cares upon Jesus Christ, as 1 Peter 5:7 KJV says to do? There is rest for the soul.
