A Light Switch
What is the first thing you do when you are in a dark room? Do you feel around for a light switch, like me? I don’t like being in the dark and I believe it’s because God created us to desire to be in the light.
Jesus Christ said he is the light of the world in John 8:12 KJV, so we know the light is a good thing. Being in the dark and not being able to see is unsettling and can be scary. A light switch connected to the power source solves the problem the instant you turn it on.
Did you know many of life’s problems can be solved instantly by a light switch in your thinking when you’re connected to the source of all power-the Lord Jesus Christ? It’s true! The Bible describes Jesus Christ as the light of the world, and when we focus on Him, the darkness of fear, doubt, and worry must flee!
The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1 KJV, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Are you endeavoring to live by faith? If so, make a light switch in your thinking and look to the promises of God found in his Word. When you can’t see the way He has planned, you are given the opportunity to walk in faith because when you are able to see, you don’t need faith.
Faith is believing that what God has promised he is able to perform. Look at what the Bible says in Romans 4:20-22 KJV, speaking of Abraham, “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that what he had promised, he was able to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.” Believing what God said when there is no evidence to point to it is faith in action.
Think about that. A light switch in your thinking can make all the difference in your life right now.
