Take Time
There are 24 hours in a day and we all use this time differently. Here in America, we are on the go, doing this, or doing that, most of our waking hours. We seldom take the time to stop and be in the moment. Is this a good thing? I don’t think so.
Here’s some of what we miss out on when we are too busy to take time:
Building relationships with God and others.
An opportunity to be a blessing to someone.
A beautiful sunrise or sunset.
The smile of a baby, as we pass by.
A conversation with a lonely person at the checkout line.
An opportunity to tell someone about Jesus.
The Bible says we are to redeem the time because the days are evil in Ephesians 5:16 KJV. The word redeem means, “To purchase back; to ransom; to liberate or rescue from captivity or bondage, or from any obligation or liability to suffer or to be forfeited, by paying an equivalent; as, to redeem prisoners or captured goods; to redeem a pledge.”
Are you redeeming the time? Are you taking the time to tell others about Jesus Christ? If not, here are two questions to ask God:
1. When did life become too busy for me?
2. What small step can I take today to redeem the time?
Time stops for no one, this is true. However, we must take time to be in God’s Word, in prayer, and in meditation, “That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:17 KJV
Will you take time today?
