CONFORMED OR TRANSFORMED (Part 1)
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2 KJV
Did you ever notice how the Bible brings us to a cross road? In this passage of Scripture, the Apostle Paul is admonishing Christians to be not conformed to this world. How is one to know if they are conformed?
First, we must define what conformity is. Noah’s 1828 Dictionary defines conformity as: 1. Likeness; correspondence with a model in form or manner; resemblance; agreement; congruity with something else; followed by or with. 2. Consistency; agreement. 3. In theology, correspondence in manners and principles; compliance with customs.
Next, we must ask ourselves, “Am I like the world in form and/or manner?” Do I resemble the world in appearance?” “Am I in compliance with the world’s theology, principles, and customs?”
If you answered, “Yes”, to one or more of the above questions, be assured, you are conformed! “How do I be unconformed?”, you ask. Read Part 2 of Conformed or Transformed to find out.
